About the Study

Child care often known as day care is the care and supervision of one or more children at a time, whose ages span from two weeks to eighteen years. The term "child care" refers to a broad range of occupations, organizations, settings, pursuits as well as social and cultural customs. An essential but sometimes ignored part of a child's development is early childhood education. Caregiving for kids of comparable ages has a variety of developmental and psychological effects on both the caregiver and the charge. This duty of caring for the child may also fall on the child's extended family.

The goal of the daily activity schedule should be to promote gradual development progress in a safe and healthy setting. It should also be adaptable to take into account the children's specific interests and skills. Many times the best child care provider is a teacher or someone with training in child development who needs further training beyond the usual core competencies of a child caretaker.

However, it reveals serious faults in the quality of care given, they show that caregivers typically have poor levels of education and are not properly qualified to provide childcare services. Because they have at least one year of college, while nearly 16% have completed basic school or a lower level of education, 68% are high school dropouts and 16% have graduated from high school. The Knowledge of Infant Development Inventory (KIDI) a test that evaluates a caregiver's factual knowledge of childcare methods, health and safety, developmental processes and milestones also yields an average score.

Vocational Education in Child Care

Any type of education that focuses on preparing students for work in legitimate professions is referred to as vocational education. It imparts the abilities, understanding and attitudes required for successful employment in a particular profession. The National Adult Learning Agency (SENA) the organization in charge of adult training programs in Colombia offer a vocational education programed for early childhood development and care. The initiative aims of vocational training are: (1) advance understanding of early childhood development, developmental milestones and age-appropriate educational and stimulating practices. (2) Encourage the creation of particular curriculum standards intended to advance kids' cognitive and socioemotional growth. (3) Creating competencies to support children's health and nutrition from conception to age six. (4) Giving the necessary training in the event of an unexpected illness or injury.

Vocational education programed is made available to everyone in the city of Bogotá who voluntarily signs up to participate. The programed has been rolled out sporadically and in a rather random order among cities, towns and rural areas in order to evaluate the program's effects on the standard of care provided and its effects on nutrition, health and the cognitive and non-cognitive development of beneficiary children.

This adds to the body of knowledge in the fields of early life and education in numerous ways. First, it demonstrates how the vocational programed directly affects the kids in these childcare providers' care. Second, it emphasizes the significance of vocational education beyond how those who get it fare on the job market. Last but not least, knowledge of the qualities of childcare providers that benefit kids and practical measures to improve their abilities. It is challenging to define "excellent instructors" in the context of early education as indicated by the educational intellectuals.

A daycare provider's vocational education programed can have a major impact on a child's development. This is especially crucial because many Latin American nations offer very similar home-based programs for young children under the age of five as early childhood services. It shows that both pedagogical procedures and care quality have greatly improved since the vocational programs implemented, especially for kids between the ages of 6 months and 3 years.
