Mindfulness is a term that carries a wide range of connotions, it is best described consistently directing oneâ??s experience in a deliberate and non - judgemental manner (Schmidt, 2011). Emotional intelligence is the capacity to be aware of control oneâ??s emotions. Both Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence are associated with positive life outcomes. This study aims to find out the relationship between Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence among students. The sample consists of 100 students from Palakkad district. Emotional intelligence scale (EIS) (Singh, 2004) and Freilburg Mindfulness inventory (Walach et al., 2006) were used to collect data. Karl Pearson correlation coeffient is used for statistical analysis. The result shows that there exists a positive correlation between Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence among higher secondary school students.
