Abstract

Eman Ahmed Zaky

COVID-19 is a contagious respiratory illness caused by a new virus called SARS-CoV-2. Infected persons with this new virus have a wide variety of symptoms which could be mild to severe. Such symptoms usually include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, runny nose or congestion, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. Older persons or those with underlying chronic cardiac or pulmonary diseases or those with diabetes are at a higher risk of developing potentially fatal severer manifestations with the possibility of developing Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS).
