Design of Nanoparticle Drug Delivery Systems for Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs and disease modifying agents in the treatment of Auto Immune Disorders

Abstract

Krishna Sailaja

Aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are commonly used to decrease pain and stiffness of the spine and other joints. Commonly used NSAIDs include indomethacin, tolmetin sulindac, naproxen and diclofenac. Their common side effects include stomach upset, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Disease modifying agents (DMARD) act by suppressing the body’s immune system. DMARD can promote remission there by retarding the progression of joint destruction and deformity. But these drugs also cause severe immune suppression. In order to avoid the adverse effects of these drugs there is a need to develop nano particle drug delivery system . In this article various techniques and characterization procedures were discussed for nano particle drug delivery system.
