Abstract

Organic farm produce are the products of organic farming, including organic agriculture, with the objective of achiving sustained productivity in an eco-friendly manner. Organically produced entitities have a huge market potential and global demand for the green-concious consumers. However, for such specialized products, there is a need to create green marketing channels with standardization and branding of the organically produced eco-products. Ecolabelling and certification are widely recognized to be the standard methods that are being widely used for creation, facilitation and expansion of green markets for the organically grown eco-industrial products. In this paper, the importance of certification and ecoloabelling has been discussed at length with special reference to the scope of green marketing of organic produce (i.e. eco-products) by following certain specific certification procedures, ecolabels etc.; supported by illustrative case studies on the subject.
